The tool connects shippers and forwarders to help them price and route spot-quote shipments by air. Access is by customer invitation only, on a shipment-by-shipment basis. E-mail alerts for available shipments are automatically broadcast to invited forwarders, providing pertinent shipment details with a link to follow for those choosing to submit spot quotes online. When the customer has made its routing decision, the TMS assigns a routing-approval number for the shipment, then electronically tenders it to the chosen forwarder, along with all purchase-order details. The same information is simultaneously communicated to the supplier by e-mail.
