PeopleNet is a vendor of onboard computing and mobile communications systems for truck-fleet management. In case of an accident, a safety manager can quickly see where an event happened with the aid of a Google map. Users of the application can "drive" the onboard event data from point to point using the Google Earth view. The tool offers detailed map information about where the event was triggered, along with the speed recorded during each second of the event. The map can be tilted and zoomed in and out. Onboard event-recording information is provided for each event "breadcrumb," including latitude and longitude, brake, clutch, speed and engine RPM, GPS time and heading. The graphic display of the GPS speed, vehicle speed and RPM depicts on the map acceleration and deceleration before and after the event.
