Customers can choose from five options in the company's product family. The premium version uses global positioning system coordinates to monitor consignments on the internet in real time. It incorporates parameters such as temperature, humidity, G-force, movement, vibration and inclination. The device also reports any attempt to open the container. A new Advanced Air & Ocean Tracking service lets customers track each unit in real time. The "light" version of Smartbox makes it possible to document temperature, humidity, G-force, light, vibration and inclination during transport. Customers can define their own thresholds for each parameter. The "easy" version measures temperature, while "tag" enables temperature deviations to be exported via a smartphone app and checked by all participants in the transport. In another company development, DB Schenker has opened a new logistics center in Guadalajara, Mexico. Covering 12,600 square meters, the warehouse is located in the Guadalajara Technology Industrial Park, providing capacity for production material in support of regional high-tech electronics manufacturers. The facility operates with DB Schenker's Production Vendor Management Inventory (PVMI) tool, which was designed for materials that electronics-manufacturing supply chains.
