The purchase price in the all-cash deal was approximately $33m. KSD serves more than 1,300 customers with information technology in support of customs declarations, security filings, transportation management and freight forwarding. Revenues are approximately $10m a year, according to Descartes. KSD is based in Oslo, Norway, with offices in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. It also serves customers in Switzerland, Israel, the U.S. and Canada. Descartes is a provider of cloud-based applications for logistics-intensive businesses, covering such activities as routing, scheduling, tracking, rating, auditing, payment and customs filings.
