A new transportation holding company, known as Circumference America, Inc. (CAI), has been formed by three veterans of the logistics industry. The entity oversees operating subsidiaries for truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), expedited and intermodal transportation services. For intermodal and spot market door-to-door movements, CAI is offering Radius Rail, Inc., a full-service provider of intermodal transportation to freight brokers and shippers throughout the continental 48 states, Canada and Mexico. For truckload and LTL services, CAI is a certified agent of Sunteck Transport Group, in addition to operating Vertex Transport. The latter specializes in the expedited truckload market, focusing on traffic lanes and commodities where truck capacity is tight and transit times are compressed. The individuals behind the launch of CAI are Mike Steele, president and chief executive officer; Jesse Martinez, chief operating officer, and Nicole Steele, vice president and chief financial officer.
