Axxom Software AG, a Germany technology vendor, has teamed up with GRA Pty Ld., an Australian supply-chain consulting firm. The deal calls for GRA to use Axxom's ORion-PIR software in its consulting projects and also to distribute the product suite. In the process, GRA strengthens its consulting capabilities and Axxom extends its presence in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, the partners said. GRA will distribute, implement and provide local support for ORion-PIR. While the agreement includes the entire Axxom product portfolio, the initial focus is on ORion-PIR Value Network Optimization. The application offers an integrated approach to analyze, design and optimize strategic network scenarios. According to the vendors, it covers every relationship within the supply chain, from customer locations, production plants and distribution centers to suppliers, manufacturers and distributors. ORion-PIR takes into account a number of constraints and restrictions, such as transportation modes, capacities and CO2 emissions. Axxom already works with Australia Universities and has implemented ORion-PIR in diverse supply-chain projects in Australia. The company also has a partnership with the consulting company Ayana-Logis in Asia.
