Cognex Corp. has expanded its product line of Checker vision sensors. The new Checker 252 model combines the existing inspection capabilities of the vendor's family of products with additional sensors, which verify height, width and diameter. In the process, the units deliver pass/fail results on high-speed production lines. Through the 252's One-Click Setup feature, users click on the center of the part element to be inspected. The system automatically locks on the edges of the element, sets minimum and maximum thresholds, and learns edge polarity. Available in November, the 252 will be offered with the Cognex SensorView 350, an industrial, panel-mount display. In a related development, Cognex has enhanced the operator display panel of its In-Sight vision systems with a number of additional features. Engineers can now create an operator interface from within the In-Sight Explorer software, by choosing the vision system parameters they would like to display, and selecting those that can be modified on the factory floor. A deployment interface is automatically generated by VisionView. Optimized for machine vision, VisionView features a seven-inch touch screen, which displays full-color images.
