Cadec Global has joined with the TelaPoint, Inc. subsidiary of Wright Express to offer fuel purchase and delivery systems for fuel distributors. Cadec is a vendor of advanced fleet-management systems, which help users to track data such as truck speed and location. Wright's TelaPoint unit is an internet platform software company which provides business-to-business applications to the convenience store and petroleum industries. Under their new deal, Cadec and TelaPoint have developed a new interface which allows fleets to run TelaPoint software on Cadec onboard computers in their truck cabs. Dispatchers can use wireless technology to supply drivers with a variety of trip information, including fuel pricing, lifts and drops, site inventory levels, freight-settlement charges, customer-signature capture and individual order status. Cadec and TelaPoint customers can toggle between the two vendors' applications to monitor driver travel logs, truck-efficiency data and compliance metrics. They can improve dispatcher productivity through the elimination of paper, while reducing excess in-ground inventory, run-outs, diversions and split loads. The joint system also automates the collection of invoicing details such as quantities, pricing and fuel taxes.
