Cognex Corp. has enhanced its operator interface, known as VisionView, for monitoring operations on the production floor. VisionView 1.2 allows for detailed visualization of parts, easier storage of failed images and a PC display option. VisionView is a touch-screen display interface for Cognex In-Sight vision systems; the technology is intended to make it easier for operators to view and monitor what vision systems are doing on their production lines. New pan and zoom capability in version 1.2 enables closer examination of defective parts, along with more accurate focusing for high-resolution images. Production-line operators can automatically download images of failed parts to an external storage device. Changes to application parameters can be saved directly to an existing job, or be renamed and saved as a new job. Also new in VisionView 1.2 is the option to run the operator interface on a PC.
