PeopleNet, a vendor of onboard computing and mobile communications systems for truck-fleet management, has introduced a tool which lets users create customized applications to support their unique workflow needs. BLU Workflow was designed to address any vertical trucking market, the company said. Customers can provide their drivers with a directed process which guides them through each day's planned activities. The system enables in-cab fuel management, providing the driver with multi-stop pickup and delivery information for each load. Using PeopleNet's BLU in-cab personal computer, drivers can look ahead to the details of upcoming stops, including graphical facility maps of delivery locations. At point of delivery, the driver enters gross and net gallons, along with accessorial information, before declaring the delivery complete. Custom edits can be provided for all data entered, according to the needs of individual customers. BLU Workflow works in any dispatch software environment that incorporates PACOS 2.6, PeopleNet's geofencing system.
