EnVista, the cost-management and supply chain consulting firm, has launched a meeting-scheduling and time-conversion application for the iPhone. Available for download through the iPhone Apps Store, the multi-use tool allows pilots, businesses and travelers instantaneously to convert time forward or backward to Zulu (Greenwich Mean Time), local 12 and 24 (military) time. Pilots can quickly understand when a historical report was released, by translating the report's issue time to the current time zone, and from military to standard time. The capability helps pilots to confirm a report's timeliness and relevancy, enVista said. As a meeting-planning application, Zulu enables users rapidly to determine the most convenient meeting time available for all attendees across multiple time zones, and safeguards against scheduling meetings outside normal business hours. Meeting reminders ensure that users are on time for appointments as they travel across time zones. When making travel plans, they can convert departure and arrival times between the user's current time zone and destination time zone.
