Sterling Commerce has introduced new mobile applications for use on the Apple iPhone. Sterling Store Associate Mobile and Sterling Mobile Store Channel give users "anytime, anywhere access" to Sterling Commerce software, the vendor said. Its first mobile applications work with the company's Selling and Fulfillment Suite, applications for orchestrating the "inquiry-to-cash" process, which includes order capture and management, logistics management and supply-chain visibility. Store Associate Mobile and Mobile Store Channel apps work with Sterling Order Management. They allow consumers to obtain products when facing an out-of-stock situation. Store associates can use the technology to reserve available-to-promise inventory and complete the sale from the mobile device. The new mobile application extends access to the capabilities of the recently announced Sterling Always In Stock to the iPhone. In addition, users can shop via their mobile device through a mobile store front, with Mobile Store Channel providing retailers with the ability to build and deploy a store presence, and consumers to browse available products, find inventory, select a fulfillment method and pay for products, all from their mobile handheld devices.
