Epicor Software Corp. has entered into a strategic alliance with Eastman Kodak Co. The deal combines Epicor's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software with Kodak's suite of print industry products. It is intended to meet a growing need among printing, publishing and commercial printing and packaging organizations for scalable and flexible services, the companies said. The alignment with Kodak allows Epicor to provide integrated print production, digital workflow and business information, drawing on printing industry best practices. Under the agreement, Epicor will market Kodak's workflow capabilities and print-focused EMS Business Software suite, embedded with its Epicor 9 ERP application. The specialized offering will be known as Epicor for Printing and Packaging. Kodak has ported its EMS software for printers to the Epicor 9 platform. The two companies already share a number of customers in the print industry. Kodak will continue to market and sell the service jointly with Epicor, the partners said.
