The Supply Chain Council (SCC) has released version 10.0 of its Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model. The update introduces people-skills requirements, to help companies promote supply-chain competency and career paths. It outlines training needs and individual performance measures for each of the core process elements of the SCOR model. According to SCC, the addition of the supply-chain skills component gives companies the ability to accurately match job responsibilities with candidates' skills. It also allows for identification of skill requirements related to post-acquisition or post-merger periods. In addition, SCC members may now access an HTML online format of the SCOR model to aid in flexibility of searching and modeling. Supply-chain managers whose companies are not yet SCC members may purchase copies of the print edition of the SCOR model. SCC's website (www.supply-chain.org) includes a free, downloadable SCOR 10.0 overview which provides additional details on the updates. The printed version can be purchased on the website for $150, with copies available at a 50-percent discount to SCC members.
