According to The Open Group, "the O-TTPS will provide an open standard for organizational best practices that aims to enhance the security of the global supply chain and help assure the integrity of COTS ICT products worldwide." The Snapshot is intended to help participants understand the value of adopting best-practice requirements and recommendations. It provides an early look at the standard so that providers, suppliers and integrators can begin planning how to implement it, while allowing customers to differentiate among those providers that adopt the standard's practices. Based on the Snapshot, version 1.0 of the standard is expected to be published in late 2012, The Open Group said. It is also planning on creating an accreditation program, to help ensure that trusted technology providers conform to the standard.
