Axxom Software AG has developed a new tool for optimizing freight rates. ORion-PI Freight Rate Optimization helps to find the most cost-efficient provider and freight rate for road, air, sea and parcel delivery. The information is classified by region, customer and product. The tool also identifies freight rates that become optimal in the event of unexpected changes. An integrated optimization function automatically selects the most beneficial provider or combination of providers. Axxom has also developed a new interactive assistant for staff planning, scheduling and rescheduling. The tool is integrated into the ORion-PI Staff Planning & Scheduling software. It helps staff planners to identify bottlenecks and carry out counteractive measures by way of an intuitive graphical user interface. Users can also perform visual capacity checks.
