Based on the Air AMS for Forwarders application, Descartes' new ACAS and ICS for Forwarders are part of the vendor's Cargo Security Compliance suite. In addition, they draw on the connectivity of its Global Logistics Network to air carriers and government customs agencies in the U.S. and Europe. Descartes' cloud-based ACAS tool complies with the Air Cargo Advance Screening pilot project, a joint effort between the U.S. Transportation Security Administration and Customs and Border Protection, performing security-threat threshold targeting based on pre-departure air-cargo information. ICS for Forwarders allows air forwarders to file directly to the European Import Control System instead of through air carriers. It provides forwarders with visibility to their customs manifest and security filings for multiple countries through a single view.
