The line comprises two models, the CK3X and CK3R, which utilize a 1GHZ OMAP architecture to optimize workforce performance. Features include long battery life, enhanced barcode scanning, device-health monitoring and compliance with emerging industry standards, such as HTML5. The CK3X was designed for warehouse operations and intended as a migration option from the current CK3B model. It can withstand five-foot drops to concrete at all operating temperatures. It includes scanning capability of 1D and 2D barcodes, including those that are damaged or of poor quality. The CK3R is optimized for light industrial and retail front-of-store applications. It includes a laser-etched keyboard and is tested to withstand a four-foot drop to concrete, as well as all operating temperatures. The new units maintain the CK3B form factor and rugged design, legacy applications and backwards-compatible accessories, easing the migration process. Batteries in both units last through a full shift, Intermec said.
